In the Zenith room of the Golden Tulip hotel in Mamaia was very crowded, no less than 280 players paying the 560 + 60 euro buy-in to ensure a place for themselves in the PokerFest Mamaia Main Event. Thanks to the impressive number of 280 participants, the tournament from Mamaia has become the event with the highest attendance in the country, with the exception of the one in Bucharest.

As expected, with the coming of the first level also came the first elimination and , as some players were eliminated, others were ed thanks to late-period registration and re-entry, so that up to level 6 there were no free seats available at the tables. The calculation made by the organizers at the end of six levels and of the possibility of re-entry and late registration the total number of players that have participated in the Mamaia Main Event was 318.

The end of the first day was written after 8 levels of play, when 180 players remained in competition. As was normal, among the remaining 180 player were very many regular PokerFest players but also many player at their first live tournament attempt, like Teodor Gheoarcă. The player who stood out in this first day was none other than Narcis Oalaru, which had accumulated no fewer than 103.600 chips. Narcis was followed closely by Ștefan Răgălie with only 200 chips less.

The second day of the Main Event in Mamaia has been extremely interesting; no less than 180 remaining players from the first day, the game was extremely hot, with 61 players remaining at the table after six hours of game.

The leader of this day was Gabriel Popescu with 257.000 chips, a stack that gave him no great comfort for the following day considering that competition at the top of the classification has been very tight, the first 5 players being separated only by 5 blinds.

This day of competition was dominated by Dany Parlafes, who at one point had over 300,000 chips, but later he managed to lose a quarter of them. However Dany was among the favorite players of the tournament with a stack of 225,000 chips. The top five was completed by George Vișan (254,100), Ștefan Răgălie (243,100) and Rostislav Matocha (218.100).

The third day of the Mamaia PokerFest Main Event ended with the Tudor Răgălie as the center of attention, who broke away from the squad of players that were left behind him. Răgălie entered the final table as chip leader with 1,148,000 chips, which entailed him with a pseudo safety stack in of the game he had to play for winning the first place at Mamaia PokerFest.

On this day the great desire of the players was to enter the 32 paid places, something that happened during the fifth level when Daniel Mrejeu went bubble.

After this moment was also exceeded, only three more levels were necessary to form the final table. Tudor Răgălie held the poster head throughout the day, leading the game due to the aggression showed at the table. Răgălie entered the final table with the chip lead, 1,148,000 chips, followed by the Czech Rotislav Matocha who managed to gather 882,999 chips. The other two constituents of the final table were Michael Taizs and Luca Almosino who succeeded to obtain a seat at the final table of Bucharest Pokerfest Main Event also. Dany Parlafes also had a seat at the final table by entering the game with 620,000 chips, after showing a very good game on day two. Besides Parlafes, Paul Plastoi, Teodor Gheoarcă and George Sas have also qualified into the next phase of the competition.

In the beginning, in the foreground of the final table were the committed PokerFest players as Tudor Răgălie, Dany Parlafes, Mihai Taizs and Luca Almosino. However, the one that asserted was Teodor Gheoarcă, a first time participant to a PokerFest event. Although he entered in the last act of the game with very few chances, and as the next to last in regard to the number of coins held, Teodor has practiced a very inspired, and he exploited to the maximum every hand, managing a few bluffs, adapting to the game of each of his opponents and having a lucky hand for a few times, which helped him to the showdown where he won every time.

In the first level, he doubled his stack and announced himself for the first time as a candidate for the first place. Then with Kings at the big blind in pre-flop, he caught Paul Plastoi and Luca Almosino all-in, both with short stacked, each with . The Kings held up and Gheoarcă’s stack increased massively. Then he caught queens when Rostislav Matocha had tens in the button position and the hand played by itself, the queens holding up to give a decisive blow. Gusti Sas was been removed at the six players game, in a flip against Răgălie, and Mihai Taizs with a dominated Ace followed him, the final table was now left with four players.

Two levels were played in this format, Gheoarcă lost the advance, but he regained his rhythm with a new card. With Aces on a  board, Teodor played call all-in instantly when Gabriel Popescu tried an over bet with . Leader again, Gheoarcă set his focus on the player on his right, Tudor Răgălie. After a bluff, in a different hand, Gheoarcă played call to all-in. Răgălie went forward  comparing to , but a seven on the flop was enough in order to change the fate of the hand.

In three players, Gheoarcă kept his constant advantage at 50% of chips, with Parlafes and Popescu having an equal number of chips almost all the time, 25% of the chips in the game each. The fight ended abruptly with an extremely rare hand in poker tournaments. It all started with a minimum raise of 120,000 played by Popescu from the button. Parlafes went all-in from the small blind with 1,400,000 chips, and Gheoarcă from the big blind position went all-in with 3,000,000 chips. The action returned to Popescu, who could not believe the situation he was in. He had   and, after one minute, he called. Parlafes showed , Gheoarcă had   and the board came agonizing slow,  for the players who were risking elimination and for Gheoarcă too: ! În sala Zenith a hotelului Golden Tulip Mamaia a fost aglomerație mare, nu mai puțin de 280 de jucători plătindu-și buyin-ul de 560 + 60 euro pentru a își asigura un loc în cadrul Main Eventului PokerFest Mamaia. Datorită cifrei impresionante de 280 de participanți, turneul de la Mamaia a devenit evenimentul cu cea mai mare participare din țară, excepție făcând București.

Așa cum era de așteptat, odată cu venirea primului nivel au venit și primele eliminări, astfel că pe măsură ce unii jucători erau eliminați, alții se înregistrau grație perioadei de late-registration și re-entry astfel că până la nivelul 6 nu au mai existat locuri libere la mese. La calculul făcut de organizatori după terminarea nivelului șase și a posibilității de re-entry și late registration numărul total de jucători care au participat la evenimentul principal de la Mamaia a fost de 318.

Deznodământul primei zile s-a scris după ce s-au jucat 8 niveluri, când 180 de jucători mai rămăseseră în competiție. Așa cum era normal între cei 180 rămași s-au aflat foarte mulți regulari PokerFest dar și mulți jucători aflați la prima încercare a unui turneu live, printre ei și Teodor Gheoarcă. Jucătorul care s-a remarcat în această primă zi a fost nimeni altul decât Narcis Olaru care acumulase nu mai puțin de 103.600 fise. Narcis era urmat de Ștefan Răgălie la o distanță de doar 200 de fise.

Cea de a doua zi a Main Eventului de la Mamaia a fost extrem de interesantă, cu nu mai puțin de 180 de playeri rămași din prima zi jocul a fost extrem de încins, după șase ore rămânând la mese 61 de jucători.

Liderul acestei zile de joc a fost Gabriel Popescu care avea 257.000 de fise, stack ce nu i-a oferit un mare confort pentru ziua ce urma având în vedere că la vârf, clasamentul a fost foarte strâns, doar de 5 blinduri fiind despărțiți primi 5 clasați.

Ziua aceasta de competiție a fost dominată de Dany Parlafes, care la un moment dat avea peste 300.000 fise dar care mai târziu a reușit să piardă un sfert din ele. Cu toate acestea Dany era printre favoriții turneului cu un stack de 225,000 fise. Primele 5 locuri fiind completate de George Vișan (254.100), Tudor Ștefan Răgălie (243.100) și Rostislav Matocha (218.100).

Cea de a treia zi a Main Eventului de la PokerFest Mamaia s-a terminat avându-l în prim plan pe Tudor Răgălie care s-a desprins de plutonul de jucători aflați în urma sa. Răgălie a intrat la masa finală din calitate de chip leader cu 1.148.000 de fise, stack ce îi conferea o pseudo siguranță în ceea ce privește jocul pe care îl avea de disputat pentru câștigarea primului loc la PokerFest Mamaia.

În această zi marea dorință a jucătorilor a fost intrarea în cele 32 de locuri plătite, lucru care s-a întâmplat la nivelul al 5-lea când Daniel Mrejeu a ieșit bubble.

După ce s-a depășit acest moment a mai fost nevoie doar de trei niveluri pentru a se forma masa finală. Tudor Răgălie a ținut capul de afiș pe parcursul întregii zile când a condus jocul datorită agresivității arătate la masă. Răgălie a intrat la masa finală cu 1.148.000 fise urmat fiind de cehul Rotislav Matocha care practicând un stil de joc tight-aggresive a reușit să strângă 882.999 fise. Alți doi componenți ai mesei finale au fost Mihai Taizs și Luca Almosino care la PokerFest București au reușit, ca și la Mamaia, să ocupe un loc la masa finală a Main Event-ului. Și Dany Parlafes a ocupat un loc la masa finală intrând în joc cu 620.000 fise, după ce în ziua a doua a făcut un joc foarte bun. Pe lângă Parlafes au mai trecut în următoarea fază a competiției Paul Plastoi, Teodor Gheoarcă și Gusti Sas.

Masa finală a avut în prim plan la început pe jucătorii deja consacrați în circuitul PokerFest, precum Tudor Răgălie, Dany Parlafes, Mihai Taizs sau Luca Almosnino. Cu toate acestea, cel care s-a impus a fost Teodor Gheoarcă, participant pentru prima oară la un eveniment PokerFest. Deși a intrat în ultimul act al jocului cu foarte puține șanse, fiind penultimul ca și număr de fise deținute, Teodor a practicat un joc foarte inspirat, și-a exploatat la maxim fiecare mână, reușind câteva bluff-uri remarcabile, adaptându-se magistral la jocul fiecărui adversar și având și de câteva ori noroc de cărți, lucru care l-a ajutat la showdown unde a câștigat de fiecare dată.

La primul nivel, și-a dublat stackul și s-a anunțat pentru prima dată ca un pretendent la primul loc. Apoi, cu Popi în big blind în preflop, i-a prins all-in pe Paul Plastoi și Luca Almosnino, ambii shortstack, fiecare cu . Popii au rezistat și stackul lui Gheoarcă a crescut masiv. Apoi, a prins dame când Rostislav Matocha avea decari în buton și mâna s-a jucat de la sine, damele rezistând pentru a da o nouă lovitură decisivă. În șase jucători, Gusti Sas a fost eliminat într-un flip împotriva lui Răgălie, apoi a ieșit și Mihai Taizs cu un as dominat și la masa finală au rămas patru jucători.

S-a jucat așa două niveluri, Gheoarcă a pierdut avansul, dar și-a regăsit ritmul cu o nouă carte mare. Având Ași pe un board , Teodor a dat call all-in instant când Gabriel Popescu a încercat un overbet cu . Din nou lider, Gheoarcă și-a pus ținta pe jucătorul din dreapta lui, Tudor Răgălie. După un bluff autentic, Gheoarcă i-a dat call all-in într-o altă mână. Răgălie pleca în față cu  față de , dar un șeptar pe flop a fost suficient pentru a schimba soarta mâinii.

În trei, Gheoarcă și-a menținut avantajul constant la 50% din fise, cu Parlafes și Popescu mai tot timpul egali, câte 25% din fisele aflate în joc. Lupta s-a încheiat abrupt, odată cu o mână extrem de rară în turneele de poker. Totul a început cu un raise minim al lui Popescu din buton, 120.000. Parlafes a intrat all-in din small blind cu 1.400.000 de fise, iar din big blind, Gheoarcă a intrat și el all-in cu 3.000.000. Acțiunea a revenit la Popescu, acestuia nu îi venea să creadă în ce situație se află. Avea și, după un minut, a dat call. Parlafes a întors , Gheoarcă a întors și boardul a venit agonizant de încet, atât pentru jucătorii care riscau eliminarea, cât și pentru Gheoarcă: ! Damele lui Gheoarcă au ținut și Main Eventul PokerFest Mamaia s-a încheiat în acel moment așa cum a și început, cu un three-way all-in câștigat de Teodor Gheoarcă.
