Republica Dominicană a avut tot timpul această climă şi a fost de când se ştie scăldată de caldele ape ale Mării Caraibelor. Cel mai mare este The Hard Rock Casino, stabiliment construit pe 4.100 de metri pătraţi într-o oază ruptă din filmele cu Johnny Depp. Acesta oferă 450 de Slot-machines şi jocuri video, 40 de mese de joc, Ruletă, sală de Poker deschisă 20 de ore din 24, Blackjack, Baccarat, Zaruri şi multe altele. Deocamdată, îi lipseşte doar pariurile sportive, aspect la care se lucrează, dar o franciză a William Hill vă aşteaptă cam în majoritatea celorlalte cazionouri din Republica Dominicană unde cursele de câini şi de cai, luptele de cocoşi şi baseball-ul sunt cele mai căutate întreceri.
