The topic of paid bets is one of the most avoided topics in the gambling world. Because most of the betters are men and men are good at politics and football; therefore they are also good at betting. More than that, each better has a preconceived opinion on paying for or buying predictions, prognostics or betting systems. I have tried to analyze this topic beyond prejudices and to find what’s behind paid bets.

First of all, this is a service. This activity may be classified under paid services. Secondly, it may be found and is used in the online environment.

However, what we are buying, what we pay for, what is offered to us:

1. Tips, predictions, prognostics/betting odds without an analysis or justification, counting on obtaining positive financial results.

2. Tips, predictions, prognostics/betting odds accompanied by a more or less comprehensive analysis, which may be pertinent despite some negative results.

3. Betting systems, when both tips and modalities of betting at various agencies with the best odds are offered. In this case, the stake may be fixed (for instance 10 or 100 Lei for each bet) or variable (increasing or reducing the stake depending on the earlier results). The discussion also concerns the level of the odds, because there are specialized websites or tipsters which use odds higher than or equal to odd @2.00, as well as others offering tips starting from a value analysis, and the odds may implicitly be higher or lower.

4. Surebets, referring to multiple bets made at the same time (or gradually within a certain period) at several betting houses and which offer a win margin at each match (usually comprised between 0.5 and 2% depending on the value and liquidity of the odds, but in this case the reaction speed is crucial).

5. “Inside tips” based on a real time analysis of the betting trend at a certain event.

6. Tips on fixed matches or possible fixed matches whose result in known beforehand. These are the most tempting and the most dangerous services of this kind. Both from a legal standpoint, and from an ethical standpoint, as well as in respect of the financial safety of the buyers, they should be avoided because the betting houses may block an event or several events in the case of suspicions, and they may also cancel the bets or refuse to pay the wins even based on risk analyses.

Taking into the above, we reached the moment when we decided to invest and buy tips, predictions, bets. What should be done further on?

In the past years and on the background of the enactment of laws on online betting in our country, a lot of people were of the opinion that the phenomenon of paid bets decreased. I would say the contrary. There are even socialization environments full of betters who promise quick success to all those who choose to subscribe to their tips or to pay for each prediction. Subiectul pariurilor plătite este unul dintre cele mai ocolite subiecte în lumea pariurilor. Pentru că majoritatea pariorilor sunt bărbați, iar bărbații se pricep la politică și la fotbal; implicit și la pariuri. Mai mult decât atât fiecare parior are o părere preconcepută față de a plăti sau a cumpăra predicții, pronosticuri sau sisteme de pariere. Am încercat să analizez acest subiect dincolo de prejudecăți și să găsesc ce se ascunde în spatele pariurilor plătite.

În primul rând este vorba de un serviciu. Această activitate poate fi încadrată în domeniul serviciilor plătite. În al doilea rând, se întâlnește și practică în mediul online.

Totuși ce anume cumpărăm, pentru ce plătim, ce ni se oferă:

1. Ponturi, predicții, pronosticuri/ cote de pariat fără o analiză și sau justificare, mizând pe obținerea unor rezultate financiare pozitive.

2. Ponturi, predicții, pronosticuri/ cote de pariat însoțite de o analiză mai mult sau mai puțin cuprinzătoare dar care poate fi pertinentă în ciuda unor rezultate negative.

3. Sisteme de pariere, atunci când sunt oferite atât ponturi cât și modalități de a paria la diferite agenții care au cotele cele mai bune. În acest caz, miza poate fi una fixă (de exemplu 10 sau 100 Lei la fiecare pariu) sau variabilă (mărind sau micșorând miza în funcție de rezultatele precedente). Discuția este și la nivelul cotelor, pentru că sunt site-uri specializate sau tipsteri care folosesc cote mai mari sau egale cu cota @2.00 dar și altele care oferă ponturi plecând de la o analiză valorică, implicit cotele putând fi mai mari sau mai mici.
