What does the collaboration with Merkur Gaming mean to you and the fact that it will soon be 10 years old?
Being a niche field compared to the IT industry in which I have been permanently active and coming completely from outside gaming, I it that it was a challenge to position the company among the trusted solutions, given the very strong competition that was present long before us in the field.
The fact that we started by developing a product whose specifications and needs were very clearly established and tracked with the help of Hannelore created a solid foundation for the rest of the solutions that followed, which were more complex and had a broader industry-wide impact.
How would you describe the experience of entering the gaming industry with a solution as complex as monitoring from outside the industry?
Certainly, the experience of competition in the operational environment worked against us in the beginning, but gradually a large number of operators have also identified the benefits of having confidence in monitoring their business with a solution that has no other stakes in the field of gambling, which ittedly can sometimes lead to various forms of conflict of interest.
The fact that we have grown continuously since 2013 proves that although it hasn’t been easy, in the long run seriousness and risk-taking with partners and customers pays off. We are aware that we can make many improvements to the solution to meet all the needs of small, medium and large operators, but this only keeps the challenge interesting going forward.
What news is Syswin preparing in the next period regarding its activity in the gambling industry?
Taking into that we have a long experience in developing and managing platforms that collect very large volumes of banking and telecom data on a large scale in Romania, all our solutions are about to undergo a technological upgrade both in of scalability and cybersecurity, which is becoming an increasingly sensitive topic in recent years. In addition, all solutions will benefit from the tools provided by our Cloud partners for Data Analytics and AI that will bring multiple benefits to our customers.

How was the 14th Entertainment Arena Expo gambling fair for Merkur Gaming?
In 2022 we celebrated 11 years of presence in Romania since we took over the distribution of Merkur Gaming products in Romania and I can say that we entered the most exciting season of this business with the 14th edition of the EAE fair. We are at a point where we can say that we have reached a level of game performance developed in recent years for this market from which we can target a sustained increase in market share in the coming years. Of course, we couldn’t have got here without the and sustained effort of the R&D team in and the management of the Gauselmann Group, who were also with us at this edition in Bucharest.
It has not been an easy road, but there are some interesting years ahead in which Merkur Gaming is preparing some new initiatives for Romanian operators and players, which we believe will bring the expected success.
Which slot machine is the top of the Merkur slot machine portfolio this year? What are the things that define it as a top slot machine? Why should operators have it in their game rooms?
This year we also bet on the launch of new games developed for the Romanian market, including a new roulette game, thus reaching a complete portfolio of 3 mixes of 48 games. The two top-of-the-range cabinets, Max Trio and Allegro Trio, were presented together with a third model, Avante Trio, which will be available in Romania from mid-2023.
The long-term reliability of the cabinets is already known, so from this point of view, we are now very confident that in combination with the right game mix, they can be a permanent part of the top 3 performers in any gaming hall in Romania.
We know from the experience of the past years that a new game needs a few years to be really successful and it is sometimes enough to have 2-3 such games in a manufacturer’s portfolio, that’s why we are planning several ways to convince operators across the country to increasingly rely on Merkur Gaming.

How would you characterize the 10 years of collaboration with Syswin celebrated this year?
I have known Tiberiu for 20 years, during which time he has launched several successful solutions on the IT market, drawing on over 30 years of experience in the area of solutions that collect data from various production environments. Although gambling was a completely new field for him and his team, he successfully responded to my request to launch a product in the form of the Mystery Jackpot, which has been adding value to Merkur machines for 9 years in Romania. We helped create the technical and performance specifications of the product but it is to the credit of his team to position the company in the top 3 connectivity and loyalty solutions for the industry.
