Sorin Georgescu (Romslot): Minors have no business in gambling halls, our vigilance needs to be increased 641e1f
Gambling is a form of entertainment intended for those aged 18 and above. Regardless of our individual business strategies, no matter how we wish to develop our activities, we must always consider this aspect in every action we take. 6a5b60

When we communicate, when we want to develop a project, when we aim to expand our company, whatever decision we take, should always be based on the fact that minors have no place in gambling halls.
The gambling hall is not a space for minors; it is a space for adults who wish to benefit from a different experience, a different way of relaxation, or even a distinct socializing environment.
It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to ensure that minors do not come into with the experience of gambling. Our efforts in this regard should not stop at putting up signs that say “Minors are prohibited.” It is not enough to write that minors are not allowed on the premises. It is also not enough to simply say it whenever we have the opportunity. We must understand that our job does not end with promoting a message. It is time to do more than that.

We are well aware that a sign does not stop a minor who wants to by the law from entering a gambling hall. Whether it’s curiosity, adrenaline, or recklessness that drives a minor to want to enter a gambling hall, it doesn’t matter what motivates them. We need to be the ones who ensure that the destination of gambling remains 18+.
Any lapse in vigilance affects us all, not just the company that momentarily loses its vigilance. The entire industry suffers. If we were talking about solidarity during this period when we are faced with the largest amount of legislative projects submitted to Parliament that affect our activities, the same solidarity should be applied to the issue of minors’ access to gambling halls. Let us not forget that all the regulations proposed by politicians started precisely from this issue: protecting minors from gambling.
Whether we are talking about the distance from schools and playgrounds or a total ban on advertising, all of these initiatives stem from the idea that gambling should no longer be a temptation for minors.
We have a law that clearly states that minors are prohibited from entering gambling halls. Let’s make sure that this is respected and that there is no need for over-regulation or additional laws.
When there are no more slip-ups, we will not fuel the voices, whether they come from civil society or the political class, pointing fingers at us and seeking to restrict our activities until we are forced to shut down.
Now is not the time to let our guard down. We have the recent example of the case of the 19-year-old in Vâlcea who set himself on fire near a gambling hall. It was enough for this proximity to give rise to a campaign of misinformation. Is this the level of trust that society and the public have in us. Is this fair? Justified? Does it represent us? The answers don’t even matter; this is the reality we live in, this is what we must face, no matter how unfair it may seem. Why? Because there have been slip-ups, because there have been situations where minors entered gambling halls. Because if these things happened once, it’s hard to believe that they won’t happen again.
Let’s ensure together that we don’t put fuel onto a fire that is still burning, whether it be mild or aggressive. Let others pour fuel, let’s not in.
