On 31 October, Emergency Ordinance 83/2022 was published in the Official Gazette for the amendment and completion of Government Ordinance no. 51/1998 on the improvement of the financing system for cultural programmes, projects and actions, as well as for the amendment of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 42/2019 on the establishment of financial measures to the implementation of the national cultural programme ”Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023”. 6p4y5r
As if increasing taxes for gambling operators in our country was not enough, here is that lawmakers thought it would be good to introduce a new tax. Thus, on 31 October, Emergency Ordinance 83/2022 was published in the MOF, for amending and supplementing Government Ordinance no. 51/1998 on improving the system of financing cultural programmes, projects and actions, as well as for amending Government Emergency Ordinance no. 42/2019 on establishing financial measures to the implementation of the national cultural programme ”Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023”. 1946
With these amendments, economic operators in the field of gambling, including for activities organized online, will have to pay a 0.5% share of revenues.
How these changes will be applied we do not know yet, we are waiting for the publication of the implementing rules to inform us.
The article we refer to is:
13. In Article I, point 19, after point (s) of paragraph 1) of Article 21, a new point (t) is inserted, with the following content:
“(t) a quota of 0.5% of the revenue of operators gambling economic operators, including for activities organised online.”
