Corina is from Bucharest, but currently lives in . She graduated from the National Academy of Physical Education and Sports, has a degree in International Sports Marketing from Shophia Antipolis University in Nice, but chose to work as a dealer in the gambling industry, where she discovered her ion for poker. The 33-year-old Corina is unmarried and has had a performance difficult to equal, she won the Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure Lady ‘ s Event in 2013.

You are a poker player for how long? And how did you begin?

I started to play poker at the end of 2009. I have dealt poker for a season in the casino where I worked at that time, I liked it and I said to myself to also try it on the other side of the table. In the beginning I went to small tournaments, but the first important tournament I’ve played in is 2010 Monte Carlo, Lady’s Event.

Do you play professional poker or is it just a hobby for you?

At first I played occasionally, not even a hobby, I was hoping to gain experience to be able to participate in bigger tournaments. In the last period, I played online a lot and when I afford it I also participate in live tournaments.

What do you like playing more, online poker or live tournaments? Why?

The online game is more accessible. Online tournaments have small buy-ins and many players, this is what I can afford nowJ. I rarely play live.

What does the 1st place in Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure Lady ‘ s Event 2013 mean to you?

Winning the tournament from the Bahamas gives me confidence, much more trust in the game and $ 22,000 in my J.

Was it difficult, was it easy? Which were your strengths, in your opinion?

It was not easy to win, I had patience and luck. There have been times when I have had only 4,000 chips (10,000 starting stack) left, but I recovered and I won.

Is it harder to play against women than against men? Do you approach the game differently? 

I always thought that it’s harder to play against women; they are more serious in the game. I do not have different strategies when playing against women, I approach the game in the same way, regardless of the person I have in the front of me.

Vanessa Selbst won the High Roller, you won WSOP Lady’s Event 2013. What do you think will be the future of poker once women involve more in this „manly” game as the men?

In last few years the female presence in big tournaments is large, probably will grow even more in the future. Increasingly more often, we also find women on the podium of the big competitions, which shows that it is not a “manly” sport (game). The game is the same no matter who is playing it, woman or man. I believe that one of the reasons it is considered so, is the financial side, men invest more in poker than women do.

What do you intend to do in the future in regard to poker? Will you keep going to live tournaments, or will you play more online?

I will continue and try to play more live, my dream is to play a WSOP Main Event. Online, I will try to obtain money to fulfill my dreamJ.

What message do you have for all ladies who want to try playing poker, but do not dare to do so?

It is not easy to win, but it is not impossible either. You don’t have to let yourself be intimidated, Poker is not only a game of chance, it is also about science, if you know the game and you have patience, the results will come.Exclusivitate pentru revista Casino Inside

Corina este din Bucureşti, dar momentan locuieşte în Franţa. A absolvit Academia Naţională de Educaţie Fizică şi Sport, are o diplomă în Marketing Internaţional Sportiv la Universitatea Shophia Antipolis din Nice, dar a ales să lucreze în industria de gambling ca şi crupier de unde a dobândit pasiunea pentru poker. La 33 de ani Corina este necăsătorită şi a reuşit o performanţă greu de egalat, câştigând Poker Stars Carribean Adventure Lady’s Event 2013.

De când ești jucătoare de poker? Când și cum ai început?

Am început să joc poker la sfârşitul anului 2009. Am dealărit poker un sezon la cazinoul unde lucram, mi-a plăcut şi am zis să încerc şi de partea cealaltă a mesei. La început au fost turnee mici, dar primul turneu important l-am jucat în 2010 în Monte Carlo, Lady’s Event.

Joci poker la nivel profesionist sau este doar un hobby pentru tine?

La început a fost ocazional, nici măcar hobby nu îl puteam numi, speram să dobândesc experienţă să fac faţă în turnee mai mari. În ultima perioadă  am  jucat mult online şi cât îmi permit, merg şi la turnee live .

Ce preferi să joci mai mult, poker online sau turnee live? De ce?

Jocul online este mai accesibil. Turneele online sunt cu buy-in mic şi mulţi jucători, este tot ce îmi permit acumJ. Live joc rar.

Ce înseamnă pentru tine clasarea pe locul 1 la Poker Stars Carribean Adventure Lady’s Event 2013?

Câştigarea turneului din Bahamas îmi dă încredere, mult mai multă siguranţă în joc şi 22,000 de dolari în contJ.

A fost greu, a fost ușor? Care crezi că au fost atuurile tale?

Nu a fost uşor să câştig, am avut răbdare şi noroc. Au fost momente când am rămas în 4,000 de fise (10,000 stack de început) dar mi-am revenit şi am câştigat.

E mai greu să joci împotriva altor femei decât contra bărbaților? Abordezi jocul altfel?

Întotdeauna am crezut că e mai greu să joci contra femeilor, sunt mult mai seriose în joc. Nu am strategii diferite când joc împotriva femeilor, eu abordez jocul la fel, indiferent de persoana pe care o am în faţă.

Vanessa Selbst a câștigat High Rollerul, tu ai câștigat Lady’s Event la PCA 2013. Care crezi că va fi viitorul pokerului o dată cu implicarea tot mai puternică a femeilor în acest joc considerat al bărbaților?

În ultimii ani prezenţa feminină în turneele mari este una numeroasă, probabil că va creşte şi mai mult în viitor. Din ce în ce mai des, pe podium, la competiţiile mari, întâlnim şi femei, ceea ce arată că nu este un sport (joc) al bărbaţilor. Jocul este acelaşi indiferent de cine este jucat, femeie sau bărbat. Una din cauze cred că este partea financiară, bărbaţii investesc mai mult în poker decât femeile.

Ce intenţionezi să faci mai departe cu pokerul. Vei continua să mergi la turnee live, vei juca mai mult online?

Voi continua şi încerca să joc mai mult live, visul meu este să joc un Main Event la WSOP. Online voi încerca să obţin bani să-mi îndeplinesc visul.

Ce mesaj ai pentru toate domnișoarele și doamnele care vor să se apuce de poker, dar poate nu îndrăznesc s-o facă?

Nu este uşor să câştigi, dar nici imposibil. Nu trebuie să se lase intimidate, pokerul nu este numai un joc de noroc, trebuie şi ştiinţă, dacă ştiu jocul şi au răbdare, rezultatele vor veni.
