Gabriel Biriș is a recognized tax expert and founding partner of Biriș-Goran.

Regarded as one of the best tax experts in the country, Gabriel Biriș has over 26 years of experience in the Romanian tax field, advising clients on complex tax litigation, compliance and structuring issues. He is well known in the Romanian media for his tireless advocacy of meaningful tax reform to help the Romanian business environment, having been appointed to the position of Secretary of State responsible for tax legislation in the Romanian Ministry of Finance from December 2015 to September 2016.

He has recently been accepted as a member, together with his colleague Sorin Biban, of the VAT Expert Group – the body that assists and advises the European Commission on VAT matters.
